It has come time to get your home ready for summertime. The most important thing when it comes to cleaning is to be realistic. You might not be able to get everything done in one day and thats okay. Follow these 5 steps to help ease your spring cleaning this year.
Planning
When is spring cleaning taking place and what is your timeframe? Is anyone going to be helping? If so, are they going to be working with you or tackling a different task? Identify which cleaning supplies you already have and if you need to purchase any additional supplies.
Room by room
Dont let the idea of cleaning the whole house scare you into not starting. Focus on one room at a time and dont move on to the next until you are satisfied.
Dont forget the fridge and/or pantry
These are often overlooked when it comes to cleaning. Take this as an opportunity to throw out any expired items and reorganize. Wipe down shelves and bins that are used for storage.
Carpets and rugs
Use carpet fresher or baking soda to help eliminate odor. Steam clean/shampoo carpets for a deep clean. If you are able, move furniture to get the carpet underneath.
Baseboards and fans
Baseboards and fans are also neglected when it comes to cleaning. These areas collect dust and dirt. A tip for cleaning baseboards is to use a damp cloth.
